Rhys Williams back from Port Vale loan — he left Liverpool two weeks ago

Rhys Williams has returned from a Port Vale loan, Liverpool have announced. The defender only recently joined the League One side — on January 16.

The reason behind the early termination of the loan is that the Englishman sustained an unspecified injury. He'll undergo rehabilitation at Liverpool.

This season clearly is an unlucky one for Rhys. First he left for Aberdeen but the loan was cut short as he failed to make a single appearance for the senior side. And now an injury, apparently serious enough to warrant a recall.

The centre-back has made 19 first-team appearances for Liverpool's first team.
