Egypt knocked out of AFCON on penalties – Salah to stay at Liverpool

Egypt have been knocked out of the Africa Cup of Nations by DR Congo in the Round of 16 of the tournament.

The game was tied at 1-1 at the end of extra-time and the penalty shootout saw Egypt lose 8-7.

Mo Salah had returned to Liverpool for his injury rehabilitation and was to return to his national team if he recovered in time.

With Egypt out of the tournament, Liverpool fans will be relieved to know that Salah won't need to rush through his recovery.
