Mohamed Salah returned to the UK on Wednesday evening to continue his recovery at Liverpool. The forward sustained a hamstring injury in Egypt's game against Ghana at the African Cup of Nations.
It's been claimed that the 31-year-old would take between three and four weeks to recover. However, there's a chance he could take part in the AFCON final on February 11, provided that Egypt reach it.
“They trust their medical staff and they believe they are the best people to make Mo feel good for Egypt and for Liverpool’s second half of the season,” Fabrizio Romao said on the Men In Blazers podcast about Salah's return timeframe.
“I still think he has a chance to go with the squad at the end of AFCON.
“This [AFCON return] is also the feeling also with the Liverpool medical staff, but they don’t want to take any risks, he’s crucial to win the title and keep going in all competitions.”
