Mohamed Salah has taken to social media to confirm that he started treatment for his hamstring injury at Liverpool.
"Yesterday I started the treatment and rehabilitation program," the 31-year-old tweeted.
"And I will do everything possible to be ready as soon as possible and return to the national team as was agreed upon from the beginning... I also love it and its people... [Egypt,] try harder."
Salah picked up the injury in the AFCON group stage game against Ghana. Earlier, the Egyptian FA claimed that he would only miss one or two games, but it quickly became apparent that the issue was a lot more serious.
Now, he faces a race against time to recover before the AFCON final on February 11 — although there's no guarantee Egypt will go that far.
