"The one you should never doubt the commitment of is Mo Salah," Pep Lijnders said at a press conference, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo.
"I know the country is devastated to lose him. He is massive. The only reason ours and their medical team decided for him to come back is to give the best chance to make the final if Egypt reach it.
"It was a one week and then a detailed scan means the expected return to play is three or four weeks. If everything goes smooth and right, knowing it will, the medical team of Egypt and LFC really worked together in close contact. They made this decision. The player is central."
The 31-year-old has been criticised in his home country after deciding to return to Liverpool to work on his recovery after suffering an injury against Ghana.
Egypt's head coach Rui Vitoria has also called out Liverpool for making the forward's return plans public.
