Wataru Endo assists Takumi Minamino as Japan start Asian Cup campaign with a win

Wataru Endo captained Japan in the Asian Cup opener against Vietnam which ended in a 4-2 win for his side.

The game proved to be trickier than expected, with Vietnam going 2-1 up in the first half.

However, Endo combined with former Liverpool forward Takumi Minamino to score an equaliser shortly before the break.

The Japan captain received the ball a few yards away from the box. In the screengrab below, he's placed near the referee.

He took a couple of touches before slipping the ball to Minamino who was rushing into the box.

The former Liverpool forward finished the move by rolling the ball into the far corner.

It was the second goal for Minamino who added an assist just a few minutes later as Japan went 3-2 up in injury time.
