Liverpool consider keeping one of loanees returning to Anfield in January (reliability: 4 stars)

Liverpool have recalled several players from their loan spells in January. Among those are Fabio Carvalho and Rhys Williams who have first-team experience.

They are still expected to depart to other clubs for the second part of the season. However, the same may not apply to Nat Phillips, according to This Is Anfield's David Lynch.

Technically, the centre-back has not been recalled from his loan at Celtic. It was always supposed to last until January.

Now, the Reds are considering keeping the 26-year-old for defensive cover, with Joel Matip injured, Ibrahima Konate injury-prone and Joe Gomez required to fill in at full-back.

If Phillips features for Liverpool on January 7 against Arsenal in the FA Cup, he will not be able to play for another team this season. The report claims that he could be in contention.
