Szoboszlai leads Hungary to longest run in European football right now

Thanks to Dominik Szoboszlai's brace, Hungary secured a massive 3–1 win against Montenegro on Sunday to finish top of their Euro 2024 qualifier group.

Hungary are still unbeaten with the Liverpool midfielder as captain in a streak that now stretches 12 matches — the longest run in European football.

Quansah wants England first-team call-up

“Always good to see, shows it’s possible,” Quansah said, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo.

“I’ve played with Rico [Lewis], Cole [Palmer], Jude [Bellingham], Levi [Colwill]. Jude and Levi since I was Under-15s so obviously seeing that, seeing how they have been able to progress and get game-time for the first team is definitely good to see.

“It’s the ultimate step (England first team). This England side are there or thereabouts, aren’t they? They’re probably the best international team in the world, which is obviously tough to get into.

“It’s just about playing well, playing well here, playing well at club and everything should fall into line hopefully.”

Rodri injury not serious

Rodri picked up a knock on international duty but the Liverpool Echo say that Man City will be able to count on the midfielder against the Reds on Saturday.

Rico Lewis talks Trent comparisons

“I would not say picked his brains - for me there has not been much on the pitch yet that we can talk about or anything like that but I have had a few conversations with him and he is a very nice person,” Man City and England defender Rico Lewis told The Mirror of Trent.

“He is somebody I have got to know a little bit. We are very similar being full-backs and leaning a little bit more towards midfield, especially with England. And he is somebody I can take a lot of information from.”

Endo hails Salah

“I am so happy to have Mo as a teammate,” Wataru Endo said of Salah, as quoted by Liverpool's official website. “He’s a very special player and is also a very kind person.

“He trains a lot and he will do everything to score. He can look like he is not playing well and then the next chance he will score. He has confidence and trains with the same mentality.”
