'We can be proud of ourselves': Van Dijk, Gakpo qualify for Euro 2024 with Netherlands

The Netherlands have qualified for Euro 2024 after beating Ireland 1-0 on Saturday. The Dutch side are second in their group with one game left, and Greece is unable to overtake them.

Liverpool players Virgil van Dijk and Cody Gakpo both started the game against Ireland.

"I think we can be proud of ourselves," Van Dijk, who captains the side, said, as quoted by Reuters. "With all the injuries, we put on a good show.

"I think we fought very well as a team and showed a lot of resilience. That bodes well. We can build on that. Hopefully the boys who are now injured can get fit and then it can be a great European Championship."
