Ibou Konate pulled out of the Liverpool squad to face Brentford at the last minute. Jurgen Klopp confirmed that the centre-back picked up an injury but didn't share the recovery timeline.
France head coach Didier Deschamps has had more to say at a recent presser. He said, as per the Liverpool Echo: "He felt something in his hamstring.
"He had tests, but it’s not serious. He needs a bit of time to not take any risks. It’s an area where he already has an injury," he said on Monday.
"It wasn’t in his interest or mine (to call him up). In the best of cases, he could have been training only Friday or Saturday."
If Ibou is able to return to Liverpool training on Friday or Saturday this week, it means that he would likely be in contention to start against Man City next Saturday. Great news!
