Liverpool paid €4.9m to sign Calvin Ramsay in the summer of 2022 with the youngster tipped to battle Trent Alexander-Arnold for that right-back position or at least deputize for him.
Unfortunately, injuries haven't allowed the 20-year-old to show his qualities at Anfield. Jurgen Klopp sanctioned a loan to Preston this summer but he returned to the club with yet another injury that's prevented him from playing a single minute this term.
But there's good news. According to Liverpool-based reporter Lewis Bower, Ramsay played his first 45 minutes for Preston in nearly six months after surgery.
"Ramsay completed 45 minutes in his first outing of the season for Preston North End today as he works towards full match fitness. Ramsay came off at half-time in a loss to Accrington and was his first action since the beginning of the year," the reporter confirms.
Indeed, Ramsay featured for 45 minutes as his team were beaten 3-2 at home in the Lancashire Senior Cup quarter-final.
