Jurgen Klopp receives hero's welcome at first club in his coaching career

Jurgen Klopp has used the international break to travel to Germany - and not just to visit his grandchild.

The Liverpool boss was a guest of honour at Mainz, the main club in his playing career and his first club as a manager.

The Bundesliga club play a friendly against Duisburg at their old stadium Bruchwegstadion as a farewell to the Sudtribune stand that is set to be demolished next year.

Klopp whose time at Mainz was spent at the old stadium received a hero's welcome from the fans outside the ground.

Klopp played 340 times for Mainz between 1990 and 2001, before an immediate move to managing 269 games before leaving for Borussia Dortmund in 2008.
