UEFA rules stipulate that Liverpool can only register 17 foreign senior players for the Europa League this year. That would mean a senior player must be axed from the Red's squad for the tournament.
According to multiple sources, the senior player to be dropped will be Adrian. Jurgen Klopp has already made the decision to drop the veteran goalkeeper.
For UEFA competitions, players are classified in List A and B for every team. List A can be made up of 25 players eight of whom must be homegrown players.
However, if a foreign player has been at the club for three years and is between the ages of 15 and 21, they can be registered as homegrown.
Adrian was expected to leave Liverpool this summer but the 36-year-old decided to stay and continue fighting for his place at Anfield.
