OFFICIAL: Calvin Ramsay joins Preston North End on loan for 23/24 season

It will be a straight loan with no buy clause inserted in the deal, with the Scotsman set to return to Anfield in 2024.

Ramsay was only able to make two appearances for Liverpool last season, with injuries causing him major troubles.

He will get more regular game-time at Preston next season and aim to properly adapt himself to the challenges of English football.

Preston finished 12th in the Championship last season and are going to look to push for promotion next time around with Ramsay.

Calvin Ramsay successfully undergoes surgery on injury

 has another unspecified long-term injury and has now had surgery on it.

The young right-back posted the following image from his hospital bed:

Ramsay: "Surgery went well time to rest, recover and come back stronger! 💪🏽"

Going by the image, it seems that he has suffered a knee injury but there is yet to be any official confirmation. 

He was spotted in training as recently as 9th February but The Telegraph later reported that he has picked up an injury.

Ramsay has had a difficult time since joining 

 as he was diagnosed to have a stress fracture in his back almost as soon as he joined the club last summer.

Since then he has played for the senior side in the Champions League and Carabao Cup but now faces this latest setback.

 career so far. The youngster explained his lack of minutes, stating he's patiently waiting for his chance. 

"At a club like this there are lots of players and if you don’t make an impact then maybe the manager will choose someone else next time," Ramsay told the Liverpool website.

"Up in Scotland you maybe get a few chances because the squads aren’t as big, but down here you’ve got to take every chance – even in training – to impress. It’s a fine line but I think I can handle it."

On making his debut for Liverpool, Ramsay said: "I was very nervous! I was shaking a little bit because I’d never really played in an atmosphere like that in front of 50,000 fans. 

"It was unbelievable for me and being in the Champions League as well was a special moment, as was having my family there.

"I think I did well [against Deby County in the cup], but I also think I could have done a bit better going forward. Overall I thought I was quite composed on the ball – which I think is another one of my attributes – so I think it was a good start and now I need to take the next opportunity and keep building on it by trying to get a run in the team."

Ramsay has not featured in any of Liverpool's last eight games. It's led to talk about him leaving the club on loan six months after arriving from

Ramsay is a great player with great ability. Klopps trouble is he has to do well next season or his job could be on the line!
Which is why these players have gone out and hopefully can improve and come back more experienced. 
At this moment in time we need a bit more experience in these areas.
Time for the youngsters to prove their worth.👍👍
