Calvin Ramsay successfully undergoes surgery on injury

 has another unspecified long-term injury and has now had surgery on it.

The young right-back posted the following image from his hospital bed:

Ramsay: "Surgery went well time to rest, recover and come back stronger! 💪🏽"

Going by the image, it seems that he has suffered a knee injury but there is yet to be any official confirmation. 

He was spotted in training as recently as 9th February but The Telegraph later reported that he has picked up an injury.

Ramsay has had a difficult time since joining 

 as he was diagnosed to have a stress fracture in his back almost as soon as he joined the club last summer.

Since then he has played for the senior side in the Champions League and Carabao Cup but now faces this latest setback.

 career in less than ideal conditions as he was injured in his early days at the club.

"I was gutted," said Ramsay. "I was in a scanner for about two hours and got told I had two stress fractures and had to go back in. I didn't even know it was there, I couldn't feel it. When they told me I thought: 'That can't be right'.

"I went back into the scanner and it showed the two stress fractures again. It made it even worse that I couldn't feel it because it felt like I was fine and could go out and train and play.

"I wanted to come here and just kick on, start training and hopefully play games, so it was a setback. I worked hard in the gym a lot so I could start training again as soon as possible.

"Now that I'm back and feeling good I need to keep working hard to try to get into the team. It won't be easy, but it's never going to be easy at a massive club like this."

 career so far. The youngster explained his lack of minutes, stating he's patiently waiting for his chance. 

"At a club like this there are lots of players and if you don’t make an impact then maybe the manager will choose someone else next time," Ramsay told the Liverpool website.

"Up in Scotland you maybe get a few chances because the squads aren’t as big, but down here you’ve got to take every chance – even in training – to impress. It’s a fine line but I think I can handle it."

On making his debut for Liverpool, Ramsay said: "I was very nervous! I was shaking a little bit because I’d never really played in an atmosphere like that in front of 50,000 fans. 

"It was unbelievable for me and being in the Champions League as well was a special moment, as was having my family there.

"I think I did well [against Deby County in the cup], but I also think I could have done a bit better going forward. Overall I thought I was quite composed on the ball – which I think is another one of my attributes – so I think it was a good start and now I need to take the next opportunity and keep building on it by trying to get a run in the team."

Ramsay has not featured in any of Liverpool's last eight games. It's led to talk about him leaving the club on loan six months after arriving from
