A United supporter commented under Elliott's girlfriend's post on social media and the Liverpool attacker replied strongly:

The United fan wrote: "Elliott has more girls in 2022 than goals in the Premier League."

Elliott replied: "She's the same girl as last year, you United fans have no clue about anything. However, I do know how to treat them [girls] right unlike some.."

The 'unlike some' part is very likely aimed at Greenwood, the Man United forward who was outed as an abuser on social media some time ago.

Greenwood was arrested by Manchester police for beating and potentially raping his girlfriend. He has not played a game for the Red Devils since his girlfriend shared these incidents a couple of months ago.

Elliott deleted his comment a little later - it's very possible that someone from Liverpool instructed him to do so as this sort of comment creates a PR nightmare.

However, there is one more possibility - that the screenshot is fake. There is no way to verify this given that the comment no longer exists, but Elliott's girlfriend says that he never commented anything on the post:

We can't say for a certainty if she's defending her boyfriend given that the dig at Greenwood was unnecessary, or if she's being genuine.

Spotted: Elliott's classy gesture after debut for England U21

 made his debut for the England U21s as he started the game against Andorra. The youth side won the game 4-1.

However, it was Elliott's gesture after the game that drew a lot of appreciation as he made a young fan's night.

After the full-time whistle, a fan ran on to the field to approach Elliott. The Liverpool teenager handed him his boots:

Elliott then hugged the boy, who ran away all smiles - you can see the way his arms are outstretched, how much this gesture means to the supporter!
