Roberto Firmino has not been called up by the Brazilian national team for the World Cup qualifiers against Chile and Bolivia at the end of this month.
Brazil have already secured a place at this year's FIFA World Cup, so there was little sense in calling up the player who has just recovered from an injury.
Firmino missed almost a month with an adductor injury. He returned to the bench for the Brighton game on Saturday but was not involved.
However, he was not called up for international duty in the previous break, either - and he was not injured at the time.
In any case, Liverpool will be represented in the Brazilian side by Alisson and Fabinho who will both make a trip across the ocean after the FA Cup game against Nottingham Forest on March 20.
