evianstill: "£20 million for Issa Diop? Sorry, West Ham, there's only room for one club who get extortionate prices for their average players and Mike Edwards has that role on lock."

thatguycallum: "He could be both a short term solution to start and a long term solution as a backup/rotation. I think we seriously have to consider moving one of Matip or Gomez on in the summer. They're both quality, but two CB's this injury-prone is just unsustainable."

kopkiwi: "Why would we not want him long term? Matip needs to go, he can't be relied upon at all. Gomez is borderline just as injury prone and who knows how VVD comes back. He's a very good Premier League proven defender, who is young enough that Klopp can work his magic with. For what we need, 20m is a bargain."

LooseCannon5: "He's just turned 24, reasonably athletic, over 150 senior appearances. I think 15 million is good, 20 when we are desperate is worth it. He's not the quality of a first choice but could he come in and do a job 6 months then become squad depth for the future? Because we need to buy multiple centrebacks in the summer."

Jack jak: "I may not like Issa Diop but he will be an upgrade of Rhys and Phillips, the Mustafi thing is getting on my nerve though."

Dr_Fbl: "Just as Robbo, pull the trigger and develop him. He has the potential to be a top-notch player!"

Redman73: "With just two days left of this window and LFC looking for a loan deal to the end of the season, Diop might be the best option we can get. But I doubt that West Ham will do a deal with us this late in the window unless they have a replacement lined up which I doubt. If we are though to do a loan deal for Diop or anyone else then I guess it will be a last-day, last-minute deal."
