Atletico Madrid vs Athletic Bilbao clash was expected to be a heated one, however, the attention shifted towards fans' interactions with the players rather than the battles on the football field.
Athletic Nico Williams got racially abused by a section of Atletico fans. The referees paused the game for two minutes at the Estadio Metropolitano, and anti-racist messages were broadcasted over the stadium speakers.
After the game resumed, Williams scored an important goal from a short distance, tying the match.
He then celebrated in front of the home fans by pointing to his skin, clearly showing his response to the awful abuse he had faced earlier in the game.
