Liverpool fan 'yet to see Pep turn an unknown player into superstar' — he's so so so wrong

Liverpool fan @cagiago_ has compared Klopp and Pep Guardiola in developing young talents.

He said: "I’m yet to see Pep take an unknown player and make him a superstar, he’s always spending on world-class players."

To prove that Klopp is above the Spaniard in this department, he brought Trent Alexander-Arnold's example. However, this comment sounds too biased if you look at it with a cold head.

Here you can see some of the players that Pep actually turned into superstars.

Gerard Pique

Guardiola took a chance on Pique, who was just 21 years old at the time, and he quickly developed into the world's best ball-playing central defender

Sergio Busquets

Pep Guardiola discovered Sergio Busquets while he was coaching Barcelona's B team in Spain's regionalised third division. Guardiola was impressed with Busquets' potential and promoted him to the first team when he became the manager.

Busquets was not a regular starter in the 2008-2009 season but late he proved to be one of the most successful players for the club. Being the core of one of the greatest football teams ever is no easy feat, but the Spaniard made it seem effortless.

Phil Foden

It's clear as day, isn't it? Foden is shining bright after getting mentorship from Guardiola, showing that sticking with young talent can really pay off.

Rico Lewis

An 18-year-old midfielder has been Guardiola's latest discovery. Guardiola has declared that Lewis is one of the best players he has ever coached, highlighting his ability to play in the pockets and his movement as a holding midfielder.

This is not the full list and you can probably find more examples of the players whose careers improved under Guardiola's guidance.
