Relevo reports that Man City bosses are less confident that Pep Guardiola will sign a new deal at the club.
Guardiola's current contract expires in 2025 and the board do not feel optimistic. With time on their side, City's bosses are planning for a future after Pep without pressure.
Guardiola has been at the club since 2016. The moment Jurgen Klopp officially quits Liverpool in the summer, Pep will become the longest-serving manager in the Premier League.
In December 2023, Guardiola said words that some interpreted as a hint at his imminent exit: "We had the feeling we would close the chapter, we won all the titles, there’s nothing else to win. I had a feeling the job was done, it was over."
Though nothing followed those words, there have also been no reports from reliable sources about Pep's desire to spend over a decade at the club.
