Josko Gvardiol used to play mostly as a centre-back earlier in his career. However, since joining Manchester City last summer, Guardiola has mostly used him as a left-back.
In his first season at the Etihad Stadium, Gvardiol often starts high up the field in the opponent's territory. His main job is to make space and deliver crosses for our strikers.
Now, as he nears the end of his first season with Manchester City, the 22-year-old feels he's getting the hang of Guardiola's style of play.
Josko Gvardiol said: "I like to take a new challenge and it’s been a big one for me this season. I’m trying to do my best every time and of course I need some time to adapt and understand each other in the team."
"Being in the final third – it’s something new for me."
This season Gvardiol played 23 matches as a left-back and 10 matches as a centre-back. Josko scored 1 goal and made 1 assist.
