Cristiano Ronaldo's goal record v Al Hilal worsens after heated clash

Cristiano Ronaldo really can do nothing against Al Hilal, Saudi Arabia's historically biggest club, unless you mean doing something nasty.

In another encounter between Al Nassr and Al Hilal, Ronaldo got himself sent off for throwing his elbow at an opponent and almost smacking the referee, to boot.

After three games with Al Nassr against Al Hilal, the Portuguese's tally is a miserable zero goals. Al Nassr lost all three games against Al Hilal with Ronaldo on the pitch: 2:0, 3:0, 2:1.

Only once has Ronaldo managed to score against Al Hilal — in 2008 when he was still a Man United player in his first stint. The Red Devils played a testimonial in Saudi Arabia in front of a 65,000-fan male-only audience. Though the Portuguese got himself on the scoresheet, United still lost 3-2. Truly a kryptonite team for Ronaldo.

Cristiano will try again in May when Al Nassr host Al Hilal in the Saudi Pro League on May 16. At the start of the season, it was advertised as a title decider, but Al Hilal have been too good for anyone to catch this campaign. Led by the likes of Aleksandar Mitrovic, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Malcom, Al Hilal are unbeaten in the league and lead Al Nassr by 12 points with seven games to go.

As for Ronaldo, for all the protection gets in Saudi Arabia he can expect a lengthy ban. If he misses more than one game, he may start fretting over the top scorer race: his current tally in the league stands at 29 goals, Mitrovic being second with 22 goals.
