Guinea vs Senegal: Predictions and betting odds

The two best teams of Group C will lock horns in their last game of the AFCON group stage. Guinea will be hosting Senegal at the Stade Charles Konan Banny de Yamoussoukro on Tuesday, 23 January.

Let's see which teams bookies see as the favourite (betting odds powered by Yesplay):

Guinea - 3.85

Draw - 2.66

Senegal - 2.3

Guinea

Guinea's opening game against Cameroon earned them a lot of praise: the National Elephants were reduced to ten players for 45 minutes but managed to get a 1-1 draw.

After their second game, the 1-0 win against Gambia, Guinea have occupied the second place in the group table, three points clear of Cameroon. It seems that the qualification to the last 16 is a done deal but Guinea should get at least a point to make sure they stay second.

Senegal

Beating Gambia was a must and Senegal did that confidently, with three goals scored and zero goals conceded. Cameroon were a tougher opponent but the Lions of Teranga won against them as well thanks to incredible performances from Ismaila Sarr and Sadio Mane.

Senegal have guaranteed a place in the playoffs, now they need to make sure they finish the group stage on top of the table.

Guinea vs Senegal: Facts to know

If Senegal beat Guinea, they will will all three AFCON group stage games for the first time in their history.

If Sadio Mane scores at least once, he will be the first Senegalese player to score double-digits at the AFCON.

Guinea vs Senegal: Prediction and betting odds

It's hard to say if the Senegal coaching team will heavily rotate their squad but there will definitely be a lack of motivation from the Lions of Teranga. It's clear that Senegal will not be deliberately playing for a draw but they won't be absolutely focused either. That's why the game could turn into an entertaining show with many goals.

Our betting tip: Goals total over 2.0 (Yesplay betting odds - 2.05)
