Mozambique vs Ghana: Predictions and betting odds

In their third AFCON fixture, Mozambique and Ghana will lock horns on January 22. The clash will be decisive for both teams but who is more likely to win?

Here is what bookies have to say (betting odds powered by Yesplay):

Mozambique - 5.3

Draw - 3.36

Ghana - 1.71

Mozambique

Mozambique surprisingly drew 2-2 with Egypt but against Cabo Verde, they were an utter disappointment losing 3-0 against opponents who were the weaker side on paper.

The defeat was mainly down to individual mistakes. First, Mozambique's goalkeeper Ernan made a howler and failed to save the strike aimed directly at him. Then defender Edmilson Dove gave up the ball in his own box and finally, Ernan was far from perfect again when Cabo Verde scored their third.

Believe it or not, Mozambique still have a chance to qualify for the knockout stages if they beat Ghana! However, with their defensive struggles, they will have to play their socks off to do that.

Ghana

Before the start of the AFCON, few would expect the humble Cabo Verde team to grab first place in their group but that's exactly what happened. Ghana only have to blame themselves - they lost against Cabo Verde when they shouldn't have.

After the opening loss, the Ghanaians had to give their all against Egypt, and their efforts paid off. The Pharaons capitalised on Mohamed Salah's injury and were solid both defensively and upfront. Mohammed Kudus had a great game and scored a brace in the 2-2 draw.

The task now is as simple as can be: Ghana have to beat Mozambique to keep their hopes alive.

Mozambique vs Ghana: Facts to know

Ghana are on a 6-game winless streak at the AFCON.

Mozambique vs Ghana: Prediction and betting tip

Ghana aren't in their top form but even weakened, they should beat minnows like Mozambique. In the first two fixtures, the Ghanaian defence left a lot to be desired but in the upcoming clash, attack is going to rule the game. And Ghana's attack is doing well.
