'I’ve lost the will to live, game's gone': Sean Dyche and pundits slam controversial Calvert-Lewin red card

In a recent FA Cup showdown between Sean Dyche's squad and Crystal Palace, there's been quite a stir over Dominic Calvert-Lewin's red card.

Dyche and football pundits have criticized this controversial decision. Calvert-Lewin got the boot after a VAR check for his tackle on Nathaniel Clyne.

Even though it seemed like he got the ball and barely touched the player, referee Chris Kavanagh decided it was a red card. This call left Everton a man down for the last 11 minutes of the match.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Sean Dyche couldn't believe their eyes when the referee showed the player a red card.

After the game, Sean Dyche quoted by Daily Mail said: "I haven't asked Dominic Calvert-Lewin [about the red]. The slow motion shows a different picture."

"If you want to slow mo everything, you have to slow mo everything. There could have been a penalty on Beto. There's minor contact, in live time he doesn't give anything, then they slow it down and everything looks worse slow."

Pundits shared their opinions on this controversial decision on social media.

Everton legend Peter Reid wrote on X: "I’ve lost the will to live, game's gone."

Jamie O'Hara claimed: "The game has been ruined by VAR' and that Calvert-Lewin's sending off was an 'absolute joke."

Jeff Stelling also questioned VAR's purpose as he wrote: "Does anybody honestly believe the game is better for VAR? Makes you weep how the governing bodies/PGMOL are destroying our beloved game."
