Saudi money move or Sunday League? Betting odds on Wayne Rooney's next job after Birmingham nightmare

Wayne Rooney's managerial stint at Birmingham was disastrous, simple as that. The Manchester United legend took over when the Championship outfit were 6th in the league table. Now, after nine defeats in 15 games, they are 20th. No wonder, Rooney was sacked.

What would be Wayne's next job? According to bookmaker Boylesports, the most probable destination for Rooney would be a smaller English league.

Here are all the betting odds on Rooney's future:

League 1 or League 2 club – 5/2 (3.5)

Major League Soccer team – 4/1 (5.0)

International team (outside Europe) – 5/1 (6.0)

Saudi Arabia club – 8/1 (9.0)

Championship side – 10/1 (11.0)

International team (in Europe) – 25/1 (26.0)

Becoming a lawyer – 100/1 (101.0)

Premier League side – 100/1 (101.0)

How the mighty have fallen! Last season, Rooney was linked with a coaching job at Everton. Now, after the Birmingham nightmare, he isn't seen as a serious contender for the top-tier and second-tier jobs.

Where did the lawyer option come from though? Obviously, the bookies added it for laughs but still, there's a reason behind it.

Wayne Rooney jokingly admitted he might want going to a law school after he was deeply impressed with the lawyers who took part in a two-year trial between his wife Coleen and fellow WAG Rebekah Vardy.

Coleen accused Rebekah of leaking her private Instagram posts to tabloids and the trial was labelled ‘Wagatha Christie’ in the media.

"It was interesting because I do like crime documentaries, and in particular the different techniques the two barristers used," Wayne said on the Disney documentary.

What will be Wayne's next job, in your opinion?
