Manchester City have finalised the deal to sign Argentina talent Claudio Echeverri, Fabrizio Romano reports with his trademark 'here we go'.
The Citizens will pay £22m to River Plate for the attacking midfielder, who will stay at the Argentine club until December 2024 before moving to City.
City struck a similar deal with River Plate for Julian Alvarez back in 2022. The forward officially joined the Citizens in January but stayed on loan with the Argentine side until July.
The 17-year-old Echeverri scored five goals at the U17 World Cup last year, finishing second for the tournament's Golden Boot award. He's made five appearances for River Plate this season, providing an assist.
