As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Julian Nagelsmann is now officially the new head coach for Germany ahead of Euro 2024.
The German Football Association (DFB) made this announcement after parting ways with Hansi Flick following a disappointing 4-1 loss to Japan in September, marking a run of just four wins in 17 games.
Germany's recent international record has been underwhelming, including an early exit from the 2022 FIFA World Cup and no tournament progress beyond the last 16 since Euro 2016.
Nagelsmann, who was released from his contract at Bayern Munich and replaced by Thomas Tuchel earlier this year, will now take charge of Germany's Euro 2024 campaign on home turf next summer.
This is the second time Nagelsmann has followed in Flick's footsteps, as he succeeded him at Bayern in 2021. Germany will conclude 2023 with friendlies against the United States and Mexico in October, followed by one more exhibition match in Austria in November.
