'It’s just the beginning': Pep Guardiola claims Man City can't be complacent against Nottingham Forest

Pep Guardiola is sending a clear message: no room for complacency as Manchester City aims to keep their perfect record intact this weekend.

City has won all five of their games in this season's title defence. Nottingham Forest's manager, Steve Cooper, even labelled their upcoming match at the Etihad Stadium as the toughest in the world.

Guardiola is striving to achieve six straight wins at the beginning of the season, a feat he hasn't accomplished since 2016. However, he also remembers that a strong start doesn't always guarantee success, as he learned during his debut season.

Guardiola said: "When we arrived here seven years ago we made six from six and we finished third It’s just the beginning. The competition is hard. Some of the opponents don’t miss many points."

Guardiola also added some words about injuries in the team: "We’ve played a lot. Less games means less injuries. A lot of games in a row over the years and no rest. We can't sustain it. Jack got a knock on his knee in Sheffield; that's football, it can happen."

"Muscular injuries mean you miss a lot. We cannot play the same players every time."
