Inter Milan's vice-president, Javier Zanetti, strongly criticized Romelu Lukaku, stating that the Belgian has "betrayed" the club.
Chelsea are eager to sell Lukaku, whom they bought from Inter in 2021, and then loaned back after an unsatisfactory season in London. Although Lukaku contributed to Inter's journey to the Champions League final last season, he is not anticipated to return for another season.
Chelsea want to remove Lukaku from their squad, even though they will have to accept a substantial loss on the £97.5 million they initially paid for him.
There are rumours linking Lukaku to a return to Italy, but this time to Inter's rivals Juventus. A potential swap deal involving Dusan Vlahovic going the other way is being speculated
Zanetti wasn't happy about it and told Gazzetta dello Sport: "Lukaku has betrayed us. We’re very disappointed. We expected completely different behaviour by Romelu, as professional but also as a man."
