Gianluigi Buffon retires from football – Fabrizio Romano

Gianluigi Buffon has decided to retire from football, reports Fabrizio Romano.

It will be official in the coming days.

Buffon is one of the most legendary goalkeepers in the game. He is a legend of Juventus, Parma and Italy's national team.

The 45-year-old has played professional football since 1995. Even last season, he made multiple appearances for Parma.

Overall, Buffon made 975 appearances at a club level – 685 for Juventus, 265 for Parma and 25 for Paris Saint-Germain.

The legendary shotstopper won one World Cup, one UEFA Cup, 10 Serie A titles, 6 Italian Cups, 7 Italian Super Cups, one Ligue 1 title and one French Super Cup. Unfortunately, he was unlucky not to win the Champions League at least once in his career.
