Lazio president reveals what Milinkovic-Savic told him on the phone about Saudi rumour

"If one wants to go to Saudi Arabia, the only stimulus is the money," Lazio president, Claudio Lotito, has told the media, via Gianluca di Marzio.

"What can I do if he [Milinkovic-Savic] wants to go? I have a good relationship with him. In the end, the player himself makes the decision.

"He begged me on the phone to let him go," the 55-year-old added.

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has been a fantastic servant for Lazio. He has been part of the Serie A club since 2015, although he often had lucrative offers on the table.

Now, the Serbian midfielder is 28 and he apparently wants to hit the jackpot by spending his final career years in Saudi Arabia.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Al Hilal have offered €40m for Milinkovic-Savic. The player is yet to make the final decision on the offer.

Milinkovic-Savic has scored 69 goals and provided 59 assists in 341 appearances for Lazio.
