'The future of the whole Kingdom in this position': Fans go crazy about one England U21 player

England U21 are breezing through the European Under-21 Championship. They are in the semifinals after winning four games out of four and conceding zero goals.

Part of the reason for their record at the back is Man City's 20-year-old goalkeeper James Trafford. England dominate their opponents, but when those still have opportunities, Trafford is there to deny them.

Not only that — he also registered an assist for Harvey Elliott when England won Germany 2-0.

Here's what fans on social media have been saying about the young goalkeeper.

Seb Stafford-Bloor: "James Trafford has had such a good U21 Euros. Across all four games, he's probably been the best goalkeeper at the tournament."

tomhwilliams23: "I’ve seen a lot of tweets praising James Trafford for keeping 4 consecutive clean sheets at Euro U21. Impressive ofc. But it’s his ability on the ball, his calmness under pressure, his decision making, his quickness of thought which stand out to me. Future England Number 1."

Tactics Journal: "James Trafford shows a ton of confidence in goal when claiming crosses. Great reflexes when stopping shots. Commands the penalty area when he has the ball. Secure with the ball at his feet."

City_em2: "James Trafford is the future of the whole Kingdom in this position. Comfortable in the relaunch and on advanced positions... Very good in the air, difficult to get caught at ground level. Good reading of the game and the trajectories, big reflex stops. Futur City N1 Goalkeeper."

For all his talent, Trafford is yet to make his Man City debut. He spent last season on loan at Bolton in League One, helping them to the 5th-placed finish with 22 league clean sheets.

He's now being linked to another loan, this time with Leicester City in the Championship.
