Kim Min-jae has officially joined Bayern Munich from Napoli for a fee of around €50m. The contract runs until 2028.
Bayern announced the new players with a short video on Twitter:
The 26-year-old South Korean centre-back was one of Napoli's best players last season and helped them to the Serie A title and a Champions League semifinal.
He was strongly linked to Man United earlier in the summer but chose Bayern, who triggered his release clause and convinced him to join.
The delay in the transfer was caused by Kim undergoing military service back home. It is obligatory in South Korea and lasts between 18 and 21 months. However, high-profile athletes are allowed to only serve a mini-camp that lasts three weeks.
