Toni Kroos gives brutally honest answer when asked about Eden Hazard's time at Real Madrid

During an episode of his podcast Einfach mal Luppen, Toni Kroos seemingly made a comment aimed at Eden Hazard while discussing Real Madrid's big-money signings.

He said: "We had another player who came for a lot of money and basically let his career die. It was a lot of money, I think everyone would say that wasn't a good transfer. But let's be positive."

Previously, Kroos said that he does not feel sorry for Hazard despite his difficult spell.

The German said to Eleven Sports: "Of course it's a difficult situation, but pity is out of place in football. I don't think Eden has a bad life. You can feel sorry for people who have a much worse life than him. It's not about money, I don't feel sorry for anyone in football."

Throughout his stint with Real Madrid, Eden Hazard played in a total of 76 matches but only found the back of the net seven times.

Despite his limited goal contributions, Hazard did experience success with the team, winning two La Liga titles, one Copa del Rey, one Supercopa de Espana, one Champions League, and one UEFA Super Cup.

In the past year, the Belgian player expressed his apologies to the fans for his performance while wearing the Madrid jersey.

He said to Marca: "I'm sorry. I'm trying, but ... I'm sorry. I have one more year and I have to show [what I can do] but it isn't easy. I'm not playing, I want to play more. I'm really sorry about what has happened."
