Robert Lewandowski has dropped Huawei as a sponsor over the tech giants' links to Russian invasion of Ukraine.
It has been suggested that the Chinese company has helped repair Russia's 4G systems after it was brought down by hackers.
The Bayern Munich striker was earning around £4 million per year thanks to his partnership with Huawei, starring in several adverts for the company.
The player's agent said: "We decided to end the marketing cooperation between Robert and the Huawei. The implementation of all promotional services has been suspended on our part."
