Mesut Ozil 'in advanced talks' to buy Turkey third division club Corum FK for £1m

Former Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil is in advanced talks to outright buy Turkish club Corum FK, as per Bild.

Corum’s former owner Fatih Ozcan stepped down from his role and revealed in his departing press conference: “A world-famous player from Turkey is interested in buying the club.”

That player is believed to be Ozil, who wants to improve his portfolio after buying 50% stake in Mexican club Nexaca last year.

The asking price to buy the Turkish club is reportedly £1m, which is nothing for Ozil as he gets around £335,000-a-week at Fenerbahche.

As he’s currently playing for a top Turkish club, it’s interesting that Ozil is buying a club playing in the same country.
