The Premier League game on Sunday between Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur was stopped late into the first half after a fan collapsed in the stands.
Spurs left-back Sergio Reguilon immediately sensed that something serious happened when fans pleaded for attention by swinging their shirts over their heads in the East Stand.
Eric Dier quickly got a defibrillator taken over to the stand by a medic to give CPR to the fan – who reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest.
The supporter was stabilized after the treatment and taken to the hospital for further treatment.
Reguilon and Dier were praised for their prompt reaction and the Premier League awarded both with the Man of the Match award after Spurs 3-1 win on the day.
