It's now an open secret that Ronald Araujo is injured after the defender was omitted from the squad that beat Almeria 2-0 on Thursday night.
Araujo has now missed his second successive Barca game with what is being described by reporters as a stress injury in the knee.
The big centre-back has been carrying the problem for weeks but according to Diario Sport's Ivan San Antonio, the injury is far from serious. Araujo even trained before the Almeria game but failed to pass a late fitness test.
However, Xavi has a pact with Araujo that he will not be risked until the end of the season if he doesn't feel 100 per cent fit enough to compete.
Araujo was recently named one of the captains of Uruguay and is expected to get in the best shape to compete for his country at the Copa America in June.
