'Best thing that could've happened to me': Cubarsi's first words after Barca contract renewal

Pau Cubarsi has just signed a new three-year deal with Barcelona, extending his stay at Camp Nou until 2027.

Here's what the youngster had to say after the renewal:

“I’m very happy because it’s been a dream since I was a child to play for Barca as a Cule and to get the renewal. It's the best thing that could've happened to me.

"All I ever wanted was to play football and have fun, and as the years went by, it became clearer and clearer, and that’s why I’m very happy to do this job," Pau added.

Cubarsi broke into the Catalans' first team in January, instantly becoming a crucial player for Xavi's setup. So far this season, the 17-year-old centre-back has racked up an impressive 31 appearances for the club.
