Very apt… there are so many emotional fans around… patience is a virtue! Thank God we have Xavi to go through this phase coz every team has them but at least we can see the competitive side of the team.. that’s not in question.. when these lads grow in terms of all these experiences, we will be a formidable force once again.. The coach should be flexible at times. 

We know he may not like Felix or Roque, but for the sake of the team and football, you have to play them in order to get desired results. Later he can continue his hate. It pains me to see xavi subbing Ferran when we are in need of goals when we have Felix and Roque who have done better than Ferran recently. 
Don’t be surprised, Ferran will start next match. 

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t dislike ferran, but on current form and current fitness, Felix and Roque are better. Ferran just returned from injury. 

The last time he started Roque, the whole first choice midfielders who will supply him with passes were on the bench, yet they judge him with that performance.

For those of us who have watched Madrid this season, and the importance Tchoameni has had on the team, it begs the question if we are being fair in the assessment of our season. When Madrid dropped €80M to sign the Frenchman, alot of people laughed and trolled, however those who know ball understand the sheer importance of having a proper DM.

When Rodri was serving a 3-match suspension, City went through a really rough patch; losing to Wolves and narrowly scraping a 2-1 win over Luton. Rodri returned and their season took a turn for the better. Real Madrid and Manchester City have not lost a match in which both Tchoameni and Rodri have started, respectively. This contextualises the absolute importance of having a good and intelligent DM.

Here are more contexts: whether Arsenal win the league or not, no one can deny that their season has been an improvement from the last one; scorinh the most goals and conceding the least, this is primarily due to the signing of a proper DM in Declan Rice. Liverpool had a rough start to the season due to the lack of a DM, they improvised with Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch in that position, but it didnt work. Upon utilising a proper DM in Endo, their season took a sharp turn; winning the Carabao Cup and competing for the league.

Thomas Tuchel went to war with Bayern's board, begging for a proper DM. Bayern flirted with Joao Paulinha of Fulham but later failed to sign him. This left Tuchel forced to experiment and sample out different variants of formations. We won the league and Super Cup last season due to Busquet's presence. That said alot about why we conceded very few goals. A DM is a protective cover for a defense and a shock-absorber during transition moments.

Xavi spent the whole summer begging for a DM: Either Zubimendi or Kimmich. However we signed Romeu and expected Xavi to do magic. Here is the logic; if we sign Zubimendi, we can play him as a lone DM with 2 advanced interiors. If we sign Kimmich, we can play 2 deep lying controllers — Kimmich/Gavi or Kimmich/Frenkie or Kimmich/Gundo; and an interior. Carlo has used this approach with Kroos/Valverde and Kroos/Camavinga. However when you have Romeu as a DM who cant play a 5 meters pass to a teammate, cant run to track down a runner, cant start the build-up from phase 1; then we should leave it to the working of the supernatural.

Pep, Carlo, Klopp, Tuchel, Arteta all needed a DM, but when Xavi asks for a DM, he is labelled as clueless? Even if Hansi Flick comes, he will still ask for a DM.

People seem to forget history alot. The major reason why Flick left Bayern was because he asked for a DM, and then Sporting Director, Brazzo, signed Marc Roca from Espanyol, who was no where near the level needed at Bayern. The people camping for Flick think he will come here and play with Romeu? We need a quality DM, no cutting corners or improvisations. With a proper DM, we would not concede the goal which Vitinha scored against us in the second leg. With a proper dm we would not concede that third goal vs Villarreal. With a proper DM, we would not see that Roberto drama vs Girona. With a proper DM Pedri wouldnt be the one chasing down the player in the build up to Madrid's winner in El Clàsico.

For those who watch football without emotions, we can see that Xavi has the blue-print to succeed, just give him the pieces to build the structure.
