Xabi Alonso could pick Barca's pocket and sign their midfield target Aleix Garcia, according to Diario AS.
Garcia has suddenly emerged as a top transfer target for the indomitable Bayer Leverkusen ahead of a strong test in the Champions League next season.
But Garcia publicly stated he wants to play for Barca if he gets the opportunity. That opportunity looks unlikely now with multiple European clubs pushing to get him while Barca are unwilling to enter a bidding war for the 26-year-old.
A few Premier League teams are reportedly keen on the player but it's Alonso's Leverkusen who are frontrunners to get him at his €20m release clause.
Barca have seemingly shifted focus to signing Real Betis Guido Rodriguez and possibly Joshua Kimmich from Bayern.
