Xavi Simons is open to a sensational return to Barcelona this summer, Diario Sport's Miguel Sanz reports.
However, signing Simons will be beyond complicated for Barca given the circumstances surrounding his immediate future.
Simons is currently on loan at RB Leipzig from PSG. And with Kylian Mbappe set to leave the club in the summer, the Parisians reportedly plan to have him as part of their first team next season.
However, Simons is enjoying a remarkable season at Leipzig, where he has made 24 goal contributions in 41 appearances, and would love to continue playing regularly.
PSG boss Luis Enrique was well aware of Simons during the Dutchman days as La Masia skipper before he decided to join PSG in his early teenage years after being offered a €1m salary. Perhaps Enrique plans to unleash the forward in his Parisian super team.
Barca are looking to reinforce their attack this summer but it's hard to foresee them signing a player like Simons whose market value has risen to €80m, per Transfermarkt.
