Zlatan Ibrahimovic's hilarious story of how he challenged Lionel Messi to destroy Arsenal in 2010

The former Barca player Zlatan Ibrahimovic gave a hilarious account of how he lectured a young Messi to "take care of business" in the Champions League against Arsenal back in 2010.

"In 2010, before the Champions League return match against Arsenal, I suffered a right leg injury."

"I had to be out for the return match after 2-2 in the first leg, where I had scored 2 goals for Barcelona."

"Before the second leg, I went to see Messi and said: Listen little one, I will not play today and it is your turn to carry the team on your shoulder. I scored 2 beautiful goals in the first leg, so it’s your turn to finish the job!"

"In this game, Messi was monstrous. He scored 4 goals and put on one of the best individual performances ever seen. After the game, I went to the locker room and said: Congratulations! Today you were better than Zlatan!"

We will never know if Messi was inspired by Zlatan's challenge or not, but it is safe to say that the Argentine delivered. One of the goals he scored on that fateful night of April 6, 2010 is still remembered as one of Messi's greatest strikes.
