Real Madrid have defeated Sociedad 1-0 away from home to extend their lead in La Liga title race to 14 points.
The Whites might've dropped points tonight but a controversial decision went in their favour as Sociedad's only goal of the game was ruled out by VAR for a foul on Madrid midfielder Tchouameni in the buildup.
Even former Real Madrid Castilla graduate Take Kubo could not believe his eyes when the goal was chopped off by VAR.
"I can only say that the player who lost the ball [Tchouaméni] was sleeping. In the UCL, this doesn’t get disallowed,” Kubo said.
Real Madrid benefitted from a VAR decision when a shot by Lamine Yamal in El Clasico that seemingly crossed the goal line was ruled out for lack of evidence.
Real Madrid will win La Liga next weekend with a win at Cadiz if Barca drops points at Valencia. They will still win it regardless as they need only 4 points to secure their 36th title.
