Following Real Madrid's 3-2 win against Barcelona in La Liga, Iraqi Women's Rights Organisation 'Sandha' posted a video of a man hitting a child in the face until the latter cried in fear and pain.
The man was apparently a Real Madrid fan who dressed his nephew in the Blaugrana outfit while the video was supposed to carry some humorous sense.
"What is more important – health and mental condition of your child or the team you support? We want information about the author of the video, so that we can file a complaint against him," the human rights' organisation wrote.
After some while, the man himself opened up on the issue.
"This is my nephew I beat yesterday. You all joke with your brothers the same way and hit them too, but the problem is it happened when I was filming it, so don't make the issue public and exaggerate things."
Bloggers and journalists call on authoritative bodies to take action against the offender. However, the Iraqi government are yet to react to the issue.
Stuff like this is simply unacceptable and no football game outcome can justify things like these.
