Xavi has made his first decision to recover his dressing room following the rancour that came with the defeat to PSG. According to Javi Miguel of AS, Xavi gave the players a day off to cool down and clear their heads.
There have been reports of Barca's dressing room being divided in the aftermath of their 4-1 defeat to PSG. One side are said to back Gundogan who criticized the mentality of the team for the mistakes that cost them a two-goal lead in the game. Another camp are against Gundo's comments.
Xavi wants his boys to ease the pressure before regrouping after such a humiliating defeat. However, training will resume intensively on Friday as Barca are up against Real Madrid in El Clasico on Sunday.
Barca must beat Madrid on Sunday if they are to reduce the eight-point gap in the title race to five.
Unfortunately, even a win might not be enough for Barca to retain the league this year as they would need Real Madrid to drop more points in the run-in.
