'Not spoken about enough': Barca fan believes PSG will have one advantage over Blaugrana ahead of 2nd leg

Ligue 1 have recently re-scheduled Paris Saint-Germain's fixtures, so that they won't have any matches between the first and the second quarter-final legs against Barcelona. That's six days of rest. Blaugrana, in turn, will have an away clash against Cadiz in between the two PSG matches.

"La Liga haven't done this for Barca and the Premier League aren't doing this for City and Arsenal... I'm not sure how Ligue 1 is able to get away with this. This isn't spoken about enough," Barca fan 3amInBarca says on Reddit.

Well, the reasons are quite understandable. Firstly, teams in Ligue 1 have fewer matches per season (there are 18 sides in the league, not 20 like in La Liga), so there is more space for schedule maneuvre; secondly, teams in lower leagues, like France or the Netherlands, often try to help their teams in this respect as it's crucial for them to have at least one standout performer in the European competitions.

La Liga actually help Barca too when possible. For example, the Catalans had more days of rest than usual ahead of their second leg of the Champions League last 16 against Napoli.

The Barcelona v PSG clashes will take place on April 10 and April 16.
