90-year-old woman 'avoids getting kidnapped by Hamas' thanks to mentioning Messi

A 90-year-old Argentine woman has avoided being kidnapped by Hamas (Palestinian Islamist military group)... thanks to mentioning Leo Messi, according to UHN Plus.

The resident of Israel miraculously managed to get away with it. One of the soldiers ended up taking a pic with the woman and leaving the house.

"I said: 'I come from the place Messi is from'," she later told the media.

Still, two of her grandchildren got kidnapped.

Hamas take hostages as an insurance policy against Israeli retaliatory action. They also use them as bargaining chips for prisoner exchanges... and as a propaganda tool.

This news surely can't be described as positive, but at least we know Lionel Messi has saved one more life.
